December 2021: COVID Protocol Updates
We’re amending our safety measures due to a significant uptick in reported breakthrough cases in NYC and amongst our athletes. Although we haven’t seen any in-gym transmission, with the advent of Omicron we think it’s advisable to be proactive.
Vaccination / Boosters: all athletes and employees must be fully vaccinated to enter the gym. Please see our January update regarding booster requirement.
Masks: Please see our January update regarding mask requirement.
COVID Symptoms: we ask that everyone rigorously monitor themselves for COVID symptoms, particularly cough, fever, loss of taste/smell, and general fatigue or feeling under the weather, and NOT attend class if they have any of these. If you have any suspicions that you may have COVID, please get tested before attending class.
Ventilation: we will begin leaving the door open again regardless of weather: this will allow for improved ventilation throughout the gym. If you are less concerned about COVID please leave the spots closer to the door for those people who have more concerns.
Social Distancing: we won’t tape the floor, but we will begin limiting capacity to 18 people. This will result in the same spacing as we had when the floor was taped (we will ask athletes to space out to 3 people per side of the rig / wall ball target.) Athletes will also be able to opt to train outside on the sidewalk. We will return to avoiding shared equipment as much as possible.
We don’t think that this level of capacity will substantially impact your ability to book a spot in class, but we will keep an eye on things and add classes should it become an issue.
Contact Tracing / Notification: this remains the same. Please notify us ASAP if you test positive or have experienced symptoms within 3 days of attending the gym. If an athlete reports testing positive, we email everyone who was in the gym at the same time as that person from 3 days prior to their onset of symptoms or positive test result, asking them to get tested and report back their results.
Disinfection: as all evidence is that COVID transmission takes place via airborne droplets and that it is not surface transmitted, we will continue with our current cleaning protocols. Disinfectant wipes are always available if you want to wipe down your equipment before use.
