Memorial Day
“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice.” Meister Eckhart
Wishing you a happy Memorial Day. This a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation’s service. It is important on a day like today that we take the time to practice gratitude. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence to suggest that saying thanks is good for us physically and spiritually. What can you do? How can you show your gratitude? There are lots of creative ways to say thanks. Show a sign. Paint a rock. It can make difference. Do not limit yourself to soldiers and veterans, say thank you to your parents, your friends and people that are important to you.
Here are some more words on gratitude for you to think about.
“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” Marcel Proust
“Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary.” Margaret Cousins
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” John f. Kennedy
