🏋 GYM LIFE
:: Usually Attends: 7:00am L2.
:: Started CrossFit: At CFV.
:: Years of CrossFit: 4.
:: Origin Story: Sandee’s husband, David, started at CFV in 2012 and encouraged her to join, but she was too nervous about getting bulky. She doesn’t worry about that anymore.
:: Athletic Background: High school volleyball and dancing.
:: Gym Superpowers: Cleans and double-unders.
:: Gym Kryptonite: Deadlift, though she’s very proud of her 188 one-rep max. It’s four years in the making.
:: Favorite Workout Music: DJ Joey. Favorite song: “Peaches & Cream” by 112.
:: Loves Most about CFV: The intensity. Though she’s gotten better about taking rest days, Sandee once went two weeks straight without a break.
🚶 REAL LIFE
:: Occupation: Art director at Area 23, an ad agency in Manhattan.
:: Hometown: Santa Monica, CA.
:: Years in NYC: 11.
:: Origin Story: She moved to the city with a dollar and a dream and no job.
:: Real Life Superpowers: Hosting. Every week in 2017, she’s cooked a new dish and invited friends over to share it.
:: Real Life Kryptonite: Playing board games. She gets too caught up in following the rules and doesn’t strategize.
:: You’ll Be Surprised To Know: During her last two years of college, Sandee was a back-up dancer for Steve Yoo, a Korean pop star, and toured all over the U.S. and Brazil. Sadly, the only video evidence exists as a stack of VHS tapes in her mom’s house in California.
